Job Summary

This position is responsible for creating and/or pursuing potential customer leads with the expectation of providing solutions and developing successful and repeatable business relationships with both residential and commercial property owners. This position will lead customers through the planning and sales process related to exterior door and window replacement projects. A thorough knowledge of exterior doors, windows and installation methodology is required. This position requires the Sales Representative to provide service to our customers both within the Design Center as well as at customer locations. This individual is expected to maintain current professional and technical knowledge of the products and processes within this industry and is expected to work with the installation team to schedule and coordinate successful product installations.


Essential Job Duties / Responsibilities

  • Concentrate efforts daily to support Northville Lumber’s mission to PLEASE.  Provide a Legendary Experience Always Surpassing Expectations
  • Meet with customers both at the Design Center and customer locations to consult and determine the product(s) needed for the replacement project
  • Provide potential solutions congruent with customer’s specifications, schedules, and budgets
  • Utilize industry leading product samples, support and technology to assist with sales process
  • Create / prepare timely and accurate proposals
  • Coordinates with Business Development Manager to develop pricing strategy to meet corporate goals
  • Proactively recommends adjustments to current product line and pricing to remain competitive in the local market
  • Maintain a sense of urgency in all aspects of the job and ensure projects are delivered on time according to requirements and expectations
  • Evaluate progress and prepare reports/documentation upon request


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Must have three to five years of fenestration related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have three to five years of sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have experience with residential building materials, products and construction documents.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office platforms, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Must have proven track record of closing sales
  • Must be able to commit to a high level of customer service on a consistent basis
  • Must be self-motivated and results oriented
  • Must have ability to effectively resolve customer complaints / concerns
  • Must project a professional demeanor at all times
  • Must have ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations
  • Must be able to multitask, managing multiple projects over a period of time
  • Must have ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Must have ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • Must possess strong attention to detail and be diligent in follow up
  • Must have ability to embrace growing business demands in a changing environment
  • Must have excellent planning and organizational skill, ability to prioritize tasks
  • Must be a team player with the ability to assist cross-functionally as needed
  • Must have working knowledge of Andersen iQ+, SPRUCE POS, ThermaTru Configurator, Marvin OMS

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
